Background & Challenge
Corporate Accountability is a nonprofit organization that fights injustice by launching strategic campaigns against corporate pollution, abuse, and human rights violations. After speaking with stakeholders and determining the underlying concept of the report, Ciampa Creative brought me on to help with the visual design and direction that the project would take. The chosen theme and concept of the report was “connective tissue,” in reference to the interconnected and intersectional nature of social, environmental, and economic justice.
Ideation
I explored a number of ideas related to connection, and decided to incorporate a risograph look because riso illustrations often have overlapping transparencies that communicate a feeling of connectedness.
Connecting Pathways
We narrowed down the concepts and with the client chose one with interconnected pathways and engaged community members.
I drafted the first few sections of the report to give an idea of how it would look, which I iterated on with Renessa from Ciampa Creative. These sections set the design direction for the rest of the report site: gradient connector pathways between sections, Risograph styled illustrations and icons, and a bold, stamp-like font for the bigger headlines.

Print Asset & Animation
I then built out assets a print version of the report, creating a vertical version of the hero image as well as a few additional illustrations. I also animated the hero image and galaxy of allies section for web version of the report.
