Switchbox Infographics

Switchbox is a climate solutions think tank that produces data driven reports that guide state climate policy. They came to me with a report comparing the energy efficiency of green hydrogen and heat pumps, and asked for a set of infographics to accompany the report.

After taking the time to understand the process and science that needed to be communicated, I created the initial process graphic that tells the story of how much energy gets lost in the production and distribution process of hydrogen gas in comparison to heat pumps. I also used this initial graphic to set the illustration style that would be used for the following graphics. 

Once we finished creating the graphic for the hydrogen gas and heat pump processes, we created a additional of different visualizations for the energy costs of each, including a sankey diagram and a icon chart.
