Background & Challenge
Yahoo Finance produces a number of video podcasts focused on various topics relating to money. Money Glow Up is a show with an educational slant: the producers wanted the show art to be vibrant and pop-art inspired.
Initial Iterations
As a team we each brainstormed a few directions. I had initially come up with a few versions inspired by comic books and Milton Glaser as references to lean into the pop-art direction that the team was interested in. After the first round of feedback, I came up with a new direction which more heavily incorporated the fact that the show had an educational theme. This direcion, with its grid-paper background and school-note collage elements was ultimately chosen to be combined with the logo lockup of my coworker.
Animations for Video Podcasting
After the direction was chosen I built out animated assets for use in the show: an opening sequence, some looping icons, and interstitial animated infographics. I had a blast bringing the designs to life with a stop-motion style that aligns with the collaged look!
Additional Promotional Materials
Lastly I built out the graphics in a number of sizes for different stages of production and promotion.
